NEWS

Group Health Cooperative Now Accessible via OneHealthPort
Great news! Easy access to MyGroupHealth for Contracted Providers is now available through OneHealthPort. Contracted providers with a OneHealthPort credential now have the ability to review eligibility, claims, and referral information, and get online answers to their questions about Group Health by going to https://ohp-login.betrusted.net/cgi-bin/ohpauth/branch.

Since Group Health first tested its site early last year, more and more contracted providers are conducting their business on the site. To date, 100,000 online transactions have been completed in Western Washington – a reflection on the growing provider interest in doing business electronically. Access was recently expanded to the remainder of the state and Northern Idaho. Not only did this increase the volume of transactions by 25%, it also decreased administrative time for providers and staff.

To see what's available on the Web site, check out the demonstration available at MyGroupHealth for Contracted Providers at https://provider.ghc.org/controller/oneHealthPort/relyingPartyLogin?TARGET=%24SM%24https%3A%2F%2Fprovider.ghc.org%2F&pingId=39240. Just click on the Provider Site Demo on the bottom, left-hand corner of the screen.

First Choice Health Administrators Services Now Available via OneHealthPort
First Choice Health successfully launched their new Web-based tool for providers and their staff on December 11, 2003, helping local providers easily access information on First Choice Health Administrator's (FCHA) members. Information on First Choice Health Network's PPO membership is not currently available.

The site, which can be accessed at www.fchadmin.com/provider, provides users with secure access to the following information:

  • Eligibility – Basic demographic information for FCHA members
  • Benefits – Basic benefit information for FCHA members
  • Claims – Claim status look up for FCHA members
  • Remittance Advice – ANSI X-12 835 remittance advice, as well as the ability to capture secure banking information for electronic funds transfer capability
  • Provider List – Searchable list of providers

First Choice Health is currently working with partner carriers and administrators to encourage participation with OneHealthPort so that in the future, information on the First Choice Health Network PPO will also be available. If you have questions or problems using First Choice Health's web site, please contact the help desk at 1-800-783-7312 or email helpdesk@1stchoiceadmin.com.

Regence BlueShield Retiring the Social Security Number – Implications for Electronic Submissions
Regence BlueShield will soon stop using Social Security numbers (SSNs) on ID cards and all external member correspondence. Effective July 1, 2004, each member will receive a new randomly-assigned identification number when their group renews their contract with Regence BlueShield.

If you bill electronically, we recommend you contact your practice management system vendor to ensure that they are able to accept and transmit the new ID number.

The following is a brief summary of the new format:

  • Positions 1 – 3 alpha prefix.
  • Positions 6 – 14 alpha/numeric characters.
NOTE: There is a maximum of 17 positions in the ID number and there are no spaces or special characters (i.e., asterisks, dashes, etc.).

OneHealthPort Continues to Gain Users
Since the launch of OneHealthPort's web site in mid-2003, the number of healthcare organizations and subscribers to the service has continued to steadily grow, with approximately 300 organizations and 800 individual subscribers joining each month. As of January 25, 2004, over 1,942 healthcare organizations and over 4,260 individuals within those organizations have registered to use OneHealthPort's service.

OneHealthPort plans to keep the momentum going throughout 2004 as more sites continue to go live with OneHealthPort's service.

FEATURES & FUNCTIONS

OneHealthPort Administrators – Remember to Keep Your Subscriber Information Current
When an employee joins or leaves your organization, it is important to make sure that employee's information is up-to-date with OneHealthPort.

For New Employees
If you have a new employee who needs to be registered for the service, you may nominate the employee for a OneHealthPort credential on the OneHealthPort web site at www.onehealthport.com. Simply go to "Using OneHealthPort", then "Account Administration", then "For Administrators" (or go directly to www.onehealthport.com/using/acctadmin.html). The screens will walk you through the simple nomination process. Once the employee receives his or her credential and become a OneHealthPort subscriber, you will receive instant notification via e-mail.

For Former Employees
If you have an employee who has left your organization, it's important to remember to deactivate that employee's OneHealthPort account. For your protection, and in order to conform with HIPAA guidelines, if an employee is no longer employed at your organization and/or is no longer authorized to have a OneHealthPort account, OneHealthPort must suspend the account. Suspending the subscriber's account does not affect the OneHealthPort accounts of other subscribers in your organization. You may suspend an employee's account at the same place on OneHealthPort's site where you nominate users (http://www.onehealthport.com/using/acctadmin.html).

Updates to Employee Information
You can make updates to your subscriber information by emailing our Technical Support Help Desk at onehealthport@betrusted.com with "Contact Information Update" in the subject field of your e-mail, or by calling the Help Desk at 1-866-292-8939 (toll free).

Keeping your information updated makes it easier for OneHealthPort, and for participating organizations, to provide you with a high level of service.

TIPS

Time Saving Tip for Providers Searching Premera's Web Portal
The next time you are searching for plan member information on the Eligibility and Benefits portion of Premera's Web portal (www.premera.com), the following tip could save you a phone call to Premera's Help Desk. (The screenshot below shows the Eligibility and Benefits Webpage.)

Question: you are looking for information on a plan member but did not receive research results by using the Dimensions Plans tab on the Eligibility and Benefits Web page. Possible answer: theplan member may still be on a non-Dimensions plan (e.g. HealthPlus or one of Premera's other plans).

How to find out if the plan member is still on a non-Dimensions plan:

  • Click on the All Products tab, located to the right of the Dimension Plan tab
  • Enter the requested Information (Member ID or Member Name)
  • If the member is still on a non-Dimensions or a Dimensions plan, you will receive search results

If this search does not provide the required information, contact Premera's Customer Service at 1-877-342-5258, option 2, and a Premera representative will assist you.

Regence Online Services User Tips
Regence Online Services was successfully launched in September 2003. The following tips may help you better navigate the site.

  • Remember to click the Submit New Date button when entering a new As of Date while searching benefits and eligibility and when adding or updating referrals. This date does not automatically update.

  • When adding a referral for which you already have the provider's rider number, enter the rider number in the Requesting Provider Number field and click the Search For New button. Then, click the Select This Provider button before proceeding to the specifics of the referral.

  • On the eligibility screen, if the Carrier Name says Regence BlueShield, it means Regence BlueShield does not show the patient having any other insurance. If it says "dual", it means the patient has additional Regence BlueShield coverage under a different member ID number, in addition to the member ID number submitted. If another carrier's name is indicated, the patient has coverage with Regence BlueShield and another carrier.

Helpful Tips for OneHealthPort Administrators
Since OneHealthPort's launch last year, the Technical Support Help Desk has been busy responding to inquiries from OneHealthPort administrators. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions to help you and the other subscribers in your office get the most out of OneHealthPort.

Administrator Tips

  • Lost or Forgotten Activation Codes – If an Activation Code has been lost or forgotten, you can generate a new Activation Code by using the "Reset Subscriber's Password" function in the "Manage Subscriber" area of OneHealthPort Administration. You will need the User ID in order to generate the new Activation Code. If you do not have the User ID, you can perform a name search using the "Last Name Search" link in the "Manage Subscriber" area.
  • Prevent Sharing of User IDs – Each User is required to have his or her own User ID. This ensures that HIPAA and security policy requirements are met for OneHealthPort and its member web sites, and it is also part of the agreement each organization signs when registering for OneHealthPort's service. Remember – there is no cost for additional User IDs for other users in your organization. Administrators should nominate each individual who may need to use OneHealthPort member sites using the "Nominate Subscriber" link in the OneHealthPort Administration area.

Your OneHealthPort Account - Helpful Tips for Subscribers
Having trouble logging in? Forgot your password? Here are answers to some of the frequently asked questions coming into our Technical Support Help Desk from OneHealthPort subscribers.

Subscriber Tips

  • Lowercase Letters in User IDs – All OneHealthPort User IDs contain only lower-case letters and include three numbers at the end (i.e., jsmith001). Whenever you login, make sure that your CAPS LOCK button is off and that you include the three numbers at the end of your User ID. Many users experience login trouble because they capitalize letters or because they forget to include the three numbers at the end of their User ID.
  • Password Reset – If you have forgotten your password or it is not working, you have two ways to reset your account and create a new password. First, you can answer one of the secret questions stored in your OneHealthPort account. Just click on the "Forgot My Password" link on OneHealthPort's login page. This will take you to the secret question process for password reset.

Alternately, you can see the OneHealthPort Administrator in your office who can reset your OneHealthPort account. Your administrator can log in to the OneHealthPort Administration area and then use the "Manage Subscribers" link to access the "Reset Subscriber Password" funtion and generate a new Activation Code. After they do this, you will be able to reset your password.

Technical Support for OneHealthPort is provided by Betrusted, our technology partner.
