Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) joins other OneHealthPort participating sites that accept electronic claims using Office Ally. By submitting electronic claims, your practice will be paid faster and the service is FREE! New Features From Regence Online Services
Process Quality and Cost-Efficiency Reports Now Available to Physicians
Regence BlueShield, sharing in the national concern over the value deficit between health care cost and quality, is examining its large claim repository to develop quantitative measurements of both quality and efficiency of clinical practice.

Regence BlueShield produced quality and/or cost efficiency scores for many physician specialties, naturopaths, chiropractors, physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners. Reports will appear on Regence Online Services unless there was insufficient data to produce results, or a specific specialty—such as pathology or radiology—does not have established national measures.

To view your report and additional information about the scores, access Regence Online Services and select Clinical Performance Measurements from the home page.

Regence MedAdvantage and Federal Employee Program (FEP) Member Information Available on Regence Online Services
Regence Online Services now includes Regence MedAdvantage members' eligibility, claims, benefits, etc., as well as claims status and eligibility for FEP members once one of their claims has been processed. This means that for FEP members, eligibility information will be available, but only after Regence receives a claim.

Request Eligibility, Benefits and Claim Status From All Blue Plans
It's now possible to request electronic transactions – eligibility and benefits (270/271) and claim status (276/277) – from Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plans outside the Regence Group. This is how it works: users submit an inquiry via Regence Online Services to Blue Exchange (BlueCard's answer to electronic communication among plans) through THIN (The Health Information Network). Blue Exchange sends the inquiry to the member's home plan, which in turn responds to Blue Exchange with the inquiry results. The results are then available on Regence Online Services. Users will receive results of their inquiry within 75 seconds of submission.

Access to the inquiry screens is available on Regence Online Service's home page. Your current security through OneHealthPort allows you access to Blue Exchange information.

New Features From Asuris Online Services
Process Quality and Cost-Efficiency Reports Now Available to Physicians
Asuris Northwest Health, sharing in the national concern over the value deficit between health care cost and quality, is examining its large claim repository to develop quantitative measurements of both quality and efficiency of clinical practice.

Asuris produced quality and/or cost efficiency scores for many physician specialties, naturopaths, chiropractors, physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners. Reports will appear on Asuris Online Services unless there was insufficient data to produce results or a specific specialty, such as pathology and radiology, does not have established national measures.

To view your report and additional information about the scores, access Asuris Online Services and select Clinical Performance Measurements from the home page.

More Pacific NW Providers Choosing E-Prescribing from ChartConnect
ChartConnect, one of OneHealthPort's vendor partners, now connects the most providers in the Pacific Northwest to SureScripts' electronic prescribing network. This eastern Washington-based company is also a national leader, reporting the highest percentage of total providers who regularly access SureScripts' e-prescribing network.

Using ChartConnect's easy-to-use online EMR and MedManager products, Northwest physicians benefit from two-way, electronic communication with pharmacies nationwide—making the process safer, faster and more efficient. A key to ChartConnect's local success is the impressive number of local Northwest pharmacies that it has encouraged to use the SureScripts system.

David Murphy, Regional Director for SureScripts comments, "It is very unusual to see such high concentration of providers in a community all e-prescribing, and even more rare when most are using a single vendors' product like ChartConnect."

E-prescribing helps physicians and their staffs to better manage their patients' medications and allergies. By using the computer, instead of the phone, paper or fax, physicians can quickly and easily prescribe and refill prescriptions at their patient's preferred pharmacy, without having to wait on hold or re-send prescriptions. E-prescribing also eliminates mistakes due to illegible handwriting and automatically checks for allergy issues or drug-drug interactions before a prescription is filled.

Part of ChartConnect's success in signing up physicians relates to their ongoing communication and collaboration with providers. ChartConnect CEO Greg Jewell explains, "ChartConnect works closely with our clients to integrate their ideas about streamlining the design of our product. It's exciting when our clients and design team can work together to create an exceptional product. We're pleased that so many providers are recognizing the value of what we offer."

Avoid Rejected Claims: Remember to Use 2006 Codes
It's 2006, the start of a new year, and coding rules have changed. Here's a reminder that this year there is no longer a 90-day grace period for using outdated codes. Using 2005 ICD-9-CM codes, CPT® codes and HCPCS Level II codes will result in rejected claims.

With Custom Coding Books you can instantly download all the coding information you need to print or search on your computer without having to buy any additional paper books. If you prefer traditional printed books, we offer the lowest online prices for Ingenix and AMA coding books and software. Visit www.customcodingbooks.com today and make sure your codes are up-to-date.

Administrator Tips: Resetting Your OneHealthPort Password
What's the most common reason people call the help desk? Password problems. It's actually easy—and faster—for individual subscribers and administrators to reset their own passwords, without calling the Help Desk Please review the following scenarios to see what you can do if you need to reset your password.
You Forgot Your OneHealthPort Password… What You Should Do
But when you registered, you DID complete secret questions… On the OneHealthPort web site, go to "Manage Your Account;" then under "Subscriber," click on "Manage Your Account;" on the login screen that follows, click on "forgot password" and follow the instructions.
If you registered but did NOT complete secret questions… Go to your OneHealthPort Administrator and ask her to reset your password.
If you are an Administrator and did NOT complete your secret questions… Go to a second OneHealthPort Administrator and ask her to reset your password.
If the subscriber is an Administrator who did not complete secret questions, nor did she appoint a second administrator… Fax a request on company letterhead to OneHealthPort with a signature of a current company manager or executive requesting that another active subscriber (list user ID and name of person) be elevated to an Administrator. The new Administrator can then assist the old administrator with a password reset.
If an Administrator did not complete secret questions or appoint a second administrator, and there are no other subscribers… Unfortunately, the Administrator will have to re-register the organization and herself.

    Three important things to remember:

      1. Your password is the key to your OneHealthPort account. Our system has been specifically designed to protect your password; OneHealthPort doesn't store your password and we do not know what it is. If you forget your password, we can't tell you what it is.

      2. If you have forgotten your password, please get it reset and don't keep trying to re-enter the wrong password. After three tries you will get a warning. After 10 tries your account will be permanently suspended and you will have to re-register. We do this to protect you from people trying to "guess" your password by repeatedly trying different combinations.

      3. The Administrator is the foundation of OneHealthPort's trusted system. Every organization should have at least TWO Administrators. The backup is vital in case the first Administrator is unavailable, is no longer employed, or just loses her password. If you are a OneHealthPort administrator, make sure you have appointed a backup. To appoint a second Administrator, go to the OneHealthPort website, select "Manage Your Account", select the Administrator option, log in, select "Add Administrator" from the menu and follow the directions.
