Providence Health System Washington Launches Online Access to Clinical Results with OneHealthPort
Providence Health System Washington announces the first use of OneHealthPort to support access to hospital information. Providence Everett Medical Center now offers affiliated practitioners and their staff secure Internet access to the Everett IMProv service through OneHealthPort. An excellent alternative to accessing IMProv through a virtual private network (VPN) or clinic connection, this fully Internet-based service:

  • Provides secure access to online resources and applications
  • Makes remote access easy with no software to install
  • Provides easy access: anytime, anywhere

Visit us at www.providence.org/provider or contact Ruth Felthous, Providence Everett Medical Center Medical Staff Liaison, at 425-261-4082 or ruth.felthous@providence.org for more information.

An enhanced online IMProv portal with new features and improved functionality will be available in late Fall of 2004 for providers at Providence St. Peter Hospital (Olympia) and Providence Centralia Hospital.

First Choice Streamlines Claims and Eligibility Inquiry
Based on feedback from providers, First Choice recently designed an easier-to-use layout and enhanced its provider web site's claims and eligibility process. Here are some highlights of the improved features on the site:

  • Now, when searching for claims or eligibility for a patient, instead of needing to enter all information on a patient, you can search by any ONE of three options: member number, social security number, or patient's name and date of birth.
  • To search for eligibility for a dependent, you can now use one of the three search options above to search for the member. You no longer need to enter subscriber information to access information for the dependent.
  • For claims searches, you now have the option to include claim dates or not.

See the screen shots below for a quick look at the new layout. Please note: Information is available for First Choice Health Administrator's (FCHA) members only. Information on First Choice Health Network's PPO membership is not currently available.

  • The site's Referral Request now allows providers to search for a specific consultant within the "refer to" list and quickly get CPT code information for 34 frequently used procedure codes from a helpful "pop-up" box.
  • Group Health now recognizes providers' social security numbers as valid tax identification numbers from OneHealthPort.

New! Subscribers Can View Role/Affiliation/Tax ID Information
If you have trouble getting proper access to member sites, as a subscriber you can now view your role/affiliation/tax ID information. Just go to the OneHealthPort Administration area at www.onehealthport.com/using/acctadmin.html, select the "For Subscribers" link, and then "View Role/Affiliations" on the Subscriber Administration Main Menu. This will display the name of your affiliated organization, the tax IDs for that organization, and the subscriber's role.

For OneHealthPort Administrators--Adding Tax IDs is Now Easier!
The process to add tax IDs for your organization has been streamlined. Now, you just need to follow these simple steps:

  • Select the "For Administrators" link in the OHP Administration Area (www.onehealthport.com/using/acctadmin.html)
  • Go to the Organization Menu (on the right) and select "Add Tax ID"
  • This link displays a page showing a top-down list of the organizations for which you can add tax IDs. Note: Most OneHealthPort administrators will have only one organization listed.
  • After clicking "Submit," a screen displays your organization's current profile information, with a box for "New Tax IDs".
  • Tax IDs are entered as 9-digit numbers, with no hyphen.
  • After entering a new tax ID, select the "Next" button.
  • The last screen will confirm that the new tax ID has been added.

Remember -- Anyone who is a registered OneHealthPort administrator can add a tax ID. When a tax ID is added to your organization's account, it becomes part of the registration record for each OneHealthPort subscriber affiliated with your organization.

TIPS

Time Saving Tips for OneHealthPort Administrators
Our Technical Support Help Desk offers these tips to help you get the most from OneHealthPort.

Protect your organization: Appoint a backup administrator
Organizations with more than one OneHealthPort administrator protect themselves if the primary OneHealthPort administrator is unavailable, sick or on vacation. Because only administrators can nominate users and reset passwords, it's important to always have someone available.

  • Easily add a second administrator by using the "Add Administrator" link in the OneHealthPort administration area
  • Nominate the person you are appointing BEFORE using the "Add Administrator" function since you will need to supply his or her UserID

Provide activation codes for new users
Make sure to copy the Activation Code that appears on your screen at the end of the nomination process for new OneHealthPort users. You must provide this code to new users so they can complete registration.

Note: if you forget or lose a Subscriber's activation code, you can generate a new one using the "Reset Subscriber's Password" function in the "Manage Subscriber" area of the OHP Administration Main Menu.
