Free Electronic Claims and Attachment Capability Soon Available for Uniform Medical Plan
Beginning January 2006, Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) will offer providers who currently submit paper claims the option of using Office Ally to submit claims and send attachments electronically. UMP will be the first payer in Washington state to offer providers the ability to send attachments, such as chart notes, treatment plans or other supporting documentation, with their claims. All electronic files can be submitted including spreadsheets, word processed documents and imaged documents. This service is free to OneHealthPort subscribers.

Office Ally gives providers the ability to electronically submit claims to over 500 participating health plans; UMP joins the following OneHealthPort participating sites that work with Office Ally: First Choice Health, Group Health Cooperative*, Premera Blue Cross, Asuris Northwest Health and Regence BlueShield.

The benefits of using Office Ally include:

    • Submitting claims anytime and transmit to payers daily
    • Receiving a receipt for all claims submitted
    • Immediate feedback for incorrect claims and the opportunity to correct them online
    • Getting paid faster!

It's easy to register for the service—just go to www.onehealthport.com and click on "Office Ally." Claims and attachments for the Uniform Medical Plan of Washington State should be submitted via Office Ally using the UMP WA Payer ID 75243. If you are currently submitting claims through Office Ally for other payers, you may start submitting claims immediately for UMP.

Coming soon: webcasts and more details on how to file electronic attachments with Office Ally.

*All Group Health products, including Options, Alliant, Group Health Medicare and Medicaid, can be billed electronically to Group Health cooperative.

    News for Administrators
Protect Your Organization: Appoint a Backup Administrator
OneHealthPort administrators have a critical responsibility for nominating users and resetting passwords. What happens if you are unavailable, sick or on vacation? It's important to protect your organization by appointing a backup administrator—someone you trust to be there if you're not available. It's easy to add a second administrator. Just follow these steps:

    • Use the "Add Administrator" link in the OneHealthPort administration area
    • Nominate the person you are appointing BEFORE using the "Add Administrator" function since you will need to supply his or her UserID

    Administrator Training Manual
If you're a new OneHealthPort administrator or want a quick review, it's easy to download the Administrator Training Manual by going to www.onehealthport.com/use_ohp/accounts.php, which is the page login into Manage My Administrator Account; the Administrator's Guide is on the bottom of the page.

We encourage administrators to make a hard copy of the manual for easy reference.

    • Link to the "Contract Authorizing Patient Services"
    • Specific information regarding Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and referrals
    • Referral delivery location, date, and contact information
    • Patient height and weight
    • Oxygen saturation rate

    Updates from Regence BlueShield
Subimo's™ Healthcare Advisor now available online
Physicians and healthcare professionals now have online access to Subimo's Healthcare Advisor™ through Regence Online Service (members also have access to this information).

Subimo is an independent company that organizes and models the best publicly available information to help consumers make informed decisions about medical care. Subimo's Healthcare Advisor, which is accessed via a link on Regence Online Services, provides information about conditions or recommended procedures, a library of health topics, and a hospital comparison tool. The Healthcare Advisor's hospital comparison tool allows members to find hospitals based on what's most important to them, such as geographic differences, specialty services offered, or a hospital's experience with a specified procedure. Members may also prepare for services by researching specific conditions and can view questions to ask their health care providers.

If you have any questions about the Healthcare Advisor or Regence Online Services, contact your professional relations representative.

Regence MedAdvantage and Federal Employee Program (FEP) member information available on Regence Online Services
Regence Online Services for Providers now includes Regence MedAdvantage member’s eligibility, claims and benefits as well as claims status and eligibility for FEP members once one of their claims has been processed. You will not be able to verify eligibility for FEP members until a claim is received.

Regence Online Services is a Web-based service that providers and other healthcare practitioners can use to access eligibility, claims status and much more for Regence BlueShield members. It provides:

    • Free and secure access (there may be costs associated with your Internet Service Provider, via your Web browser.)
    • A HIPAA-compliant application
    • Eligibility and benefits verifications, including co-pays and deductibles
    • A list of subscriber family members
    • Claim summary, detail and status
    • Ability to add a referral and review existing referrals
    • Ability to search participating providers

Eligibility, benefits and claim status can be requested of all Blue Plans
Beginning December 2005, you will be able to request electronic transactions – eligibility and benefits (270/271) and Claim Status (276/277) – to other Blue Plans outside of The Regence Group. This new function allows Regence Online Service users to submit an inquiry through THIN (The Health Information Network) to Blue Exchange (BlueCard's answer to electronic communication between Plans). Blue Exchange sends the inquiry to the member's home plan, which then responds back to Blue Exchange with the inquiry results. The results are then available on Regence Online Service for providers to retrieve. Users will receive results of their inquiry within 75 seconds of submission.

Access to the inquiry screens will be available on Regence Online Services' home page. Your current security through OneHealthPort will allow you access to the Blue Exchange information.

    News from Premera Blue Cross
Premera Blue Cross Transitioning to Secure Transport
Premera Blue Cross is currently transitioning all electronic claims submitters from its older Bulletin Board System (BBS) DOS- based technology to a new secure web based connectivity called Secure Transport (ST). Access to Secure Transport will be through your OneHealthPort User ID number.

A product of Tumbleweed Communications Corp., ST allows transfer of files via a secure Internet connection, utilizes standard security protocols of FTPS and HTTPS, and integrates SSL and Digital Certificate (X.509). It replaces older, less flexible technology, and because it is Internet based, ST is easily available and integrates well with other applications. It is a field proven, complete solution that allows reliable real-time delivery of large or small files.

In transitioning to ST, you will retain your current PBC assigned electronic submitter identification (ID) number. Migration from the BBS to ST is currently underway. An appropriate shutdown date for the BBS will be announced within the next few months.

If you have any questions about how to make this transition, please call 800 435-2715.

    Blue Exchange Now Available!
Premera Blue Cross is now offering BlueExchange, a new option that allows you to access eligibility, benefits and other key information for the services you render to nation-wide Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield, NASCO as well as Federal Employee Program (FEP) members. BlueExchange, available since November 1, is a secure option that checks the status of claims you submit for members on these plans with HMO, Indemnity, POS, PPO, and traditional coverage.

BlueExchange represents the first major enhancement since the Premera Blue Cross provider portal was launched in 2003. Eligibility, benefit and claims inquiries now can be submitted for members from other Blue, NASCO and FEP plans. These transactions are then routed to the home plan through the BlueExchange process.

For more information about BlueExchange, call your Provider Network Representative. For more information about BlueCard, contact BlueCard Customer Service at 1-888-261-9562 or call the member's home plan.
