About Quip
The Washington State Medical Education and Research Foundation
(WSM-ERF) Quality Improvement Program, or Quip, offers primary
care physicians in Washington state the patient-specific information
they need to improve chronic and preventive care for all Washington
residents.
With this physician-led program, primary care physicians throughout
Washington will have secure access to free reports on their
performance as compared to best practice. They will also receive
valuable data on their patients in convenient, easy-to-use
registries to help identify those in need of preventive and
chronic care services.
Quip combines medical and pharmacy claims data from multiple
payers, and focuses on a number of chronic and preventive
care measures, including:
- Chronic care measures in diabetes, asthma, heart failure,
coronary artery disease and depression
- Preventive measures for breast, cervical and colorectal
cancer and required immunizations
Each physician has exclusive access to reports about his
or her own performance, and information about his or her own
patients. Secure reports and easy-to-use registries are only
available with a secure OneHealthPort ID.
.
Your Quip report will only be generated if you—or a designated representative from your office—pre-registers, giving WSM-ERF permission to generate a report with your patients' information. Follow these steps to pre-register:
STEP ONE: Get your secure OneHealthPort ID
- If your practice has already registered with OneHealthPort
but the physicians in the practice do not have your their own secure ID, the OneHealthPort administrator in the office can nominate interested physicians as subscribers. Physicians will receive their own secure IDs, with instructions for how to activate their accounts
- If your office has not registered with OneHealthPort,
simply have someone in your office log-on to www.onehealthport.com
and follow the registration instructions.
STEP TWO: Assign a Licensed Practitioner role to the physicians who will receive reports
- When nominating a physician as a new OneHealthPort user, be sure to select the Licensed Practitioner role.
- If a physician already has his or her own OneHealthPort secure ID, verify that the login has a "Licensed Practitioner" role.
- If a physician has a OneHealthPort secure ID but does not have the Licensed Practitioner role selected, the OneHealthPort administrator in your office may add the role (Click here and select "Manage Subscriber" then enter the user' secure ID or subscriber ID. Once the subscriber name displays, select "Modify Subscriber Affiliations and Roles" to add the new role.)
STEP THREE: Share your NPI information with OneHealthPort's Northwest NPI Service
- Log-on to www.onehealthport.com and click on Northwest NPI Service. Follow the steps to share your practitioners' NPI numbers and demographics to allow Quip to use these numbers to create reports.
STEP FOUR: Give Quip permission to build your report
- To begin, go to www.onehealthport.com and click on Quip.
- You will be asked to indicate which physicians within your organization you are registering and you will be asked to accept an agreement giving WSM-ERF permission to include patients' health information in the Quip report.
- Once permission is granted, WSM-ERF will build individual physician Quip reports. When reports are available, each individual practitioner can use his or her OneHealthPort log-in to see his or her own reports securely and confidentially.
