Multi-Factor Authentication

About Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enhances the security of your account by requiring more than one method to verify your identity. This typically includes something you know, such as your OneHealthPort Subscriber ID and password, plus something you have, such as a cell phone. This helps prevent your account from unauthorized access, even if someone knows your password.

When you access a site that requires MFA, you will be prompted to complete one of the following verification methods:

  • One-Time Passcode (OTP) by Email: A unique 6-digit code will be sent to the email address associated with your OneHealthPort Single Sign-On (SSO) account.
  • Authenticator App: An authenticator app is a free app you can download to your smartphone or tablet. The app generates a unique 6-digit code that you enter on the login screen to verify your identity. Once configured, you can generate codes without a network or cellular connection. OneHealthPort supports all standard authenticator apps. We provide instructions for using Google Authenticator as a reference, but you may use the Authenticator app of your choice.
  • SMS: Coming soon! Watch for an email from OneHealthPort with more information later in Q4.

Important: MFA will never prompt you for sensitive personal information such as your address or Social Security number. After you log in with your OneHealthPort Subscriber ID and password, MFA will only ask you to enter a 6-digit verification code.

Please note that some sites and OneHealthPort applications only accept an authenticator 6-digit code.

About Device Registration

Bundle: Text

Register your device by selecting the checkbox “Remember my device on this browser for up to 60 days” below where you enter your 6-digit code. When you register your device, you will not be prompted for your MFA passcode every time you log in as long as you use the same computer and browser without clearing your cookies.

Please note that Device Registration is site-specific. Some sites do not accept it.

Helpful Tips

  • The following are steps you can take in advance to ensure seamless access to OneHealthPort sites that require MFA:
    • If you choose to use an authenticator app, download it in advance.
    • Verify that your SSO email address is correct.
      • Note that OneHealthPort does not allow shared accounts. If you are sharing a single OneHealthPort Subscriber ID and password, MFA will not work, and your access will be denied. Please contact OneHealthPort if you need assistance.
    • Make sure your systems will accept emails from noreply@onehealthport.com.
      • After you've verified your email or downloaded the app, click 'Verify My Connection' below to test your MFA connection.
